An eco-adventurer who lives to explore local culture, Heather has visited more than 20 countries across the globe and never shies from an adrenaline pumping experience including skydiving, shark diving and letting tarantulas crawl up her leg.
Studying environmental science with a focus on water quality, Heather lived extensively in the Caribbean working in marine conservation and eco-tourism. A certified SCUBA Rescue Diver, she collected field research and she helped propose new boundary guidelines for an established marine park. As an advocate for ocean conservation, Heather taught island locals about sustainable fishing practices and the importance of protecting the resources for future generations. While working for the Caribbean Alliance for Sustainable Tourism in Puerto Rico, she helped develop sustainable tourism guides and environmental management tools for the regions hotels and resorts, awarding "green" certificates for those showing exemplary efforts.
