Derailed in Springfield, Illinois

After having my car fixed in San Jose, IL by Shane Butler at Ho Bo Co Custom Automotive,  it was dark and late and I had just enough time to make it to Springfield, IL for the night.  Luckily I found the local brewery,  Odes and Issac's, open late for dinner.  I ordered the Ditzy Blonde Ale their pretzel and cheese appetizer which I highly recommend.

The next day, I took the opportunity to explore downtown of the Capital city and found it quite charming.   2018 marks the 200th Anniversary of the city and the area is filled with remnants of the past and of course Abraham Lincoln.  Lincoln live in Springfield from 1844- 1861 before he became the 16th President of the US and wrote his first inaugural address in the city.

For lunch, I stopped in Tacology 101, a Taco joint by Chef James Hamilton.  On special was thier heirloom tomato salad which was fresh and delicious and the street corn was nothing short of amazing!  I ordered the mahi taco, the fried cheese taco and the frozen Blood Orange Margarita, yum, and they even have gluten-free beer.   I highly recommend this spot if you are downtown.
